Captured US, French Machineguns were turned against their former owners, but the Soviet Union, and China  produced many of the weaponry that was supplied to Vietnamese forces. Medium Machine guns such as the Type 24 (Chinese version of the MG-08) in a wheeled carriage proved vary popular with insurgent forces.
