PAVN Sampans

Sampans are small flat-bottomed wooden boats used for transport upon coastal, and inland rivers. They typically have a small shelter and can be propelled by paddle, pole, or a small outboard motor. During the Vietnam war they were on ever river, everyday, and considerable effort was spent by the US Coast Guard, Navy, and riverine forces to halt smuggling of weapons, and supplies aboard these small simple craft.
